Biography - Steven Blakeslee


I have taught at Evergreen for seven years (1987-1992 and 2001-present); representative courses and programs include "The Practice of Writing," "Writing for Work," "Grantwriting," "Autobiography," "Nature Writing,"and "The Changing Literary Canon." My publications include personal essays, poetry, and miscellaneous prose. I hold an M.A. in English and American
Literature from the University of Washington (UW; 1991) and a certificate in Advanced Creative Nonfiction from UW's Extension School (2001). I also have nine years of experience (1992-2001) as a professional writer, editor, and development-communications manager with a national nonprofit organization.
