Faculty Signature Required: Students interested in contract sponsorship with Setsuko Tsutsumi should email a contract draft/proposal to her at firstname.lastname@example.org. They should consult the TESC webpage on individual learning contracts for directions and fill out the forms at www.evergreen.edu/individualstudy (see link above). Students may also meet with Setsuko at the Academic Fair, March 4, 2009 to discuss possible contracts.
Major areas of study include the student's area of interest in Japanese studies, film or study abroad.
Class Standing: Sophomores or above; transfer students welcome.
Individual Study: Japanese Studies, Film and Study Abroad offers opportunities for students to create their own course of study and research. Prior to the beginning of spring quarter, interested individual students or small groups of students consult with the faculty sponsor about their proposed projects. Possible contract areas with Setsuko include Japanese history, Japanese literature, Japanese arts, Japanese film, comparative literature, study abroad, and internships.
Credits: 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 or 16 per quarter
Internship Possibilities: With faculty approval
Special Expenses: May vary depending on student projects and whether a student chooses to study abroad for an Individual Learning Contract.
Program is preparatory for careers and future studies in Japanese studies and film, humanities.
