This year long program seeks to explore the emotional skills that build moral and ethical leadership. We will focus on work that is performed in social enterprises. These enterprises are commonly based with non-profit organizations which are the growth engines for building and developing communities. This program is designed to develop competencies for analyzing and improving social enterprises, to develop management and leadership skills for promoting and implementing change, and to seek ways to value difference and cultural diversity in the workplace.
Fall quarter will focus on organization systems, business cultures, management myths and emotional behavior of social enterprises. Winter quarter will focus on business management, leadership, and inclusive workplace practices. Spring quarter will focus on intercultural communications, community building, and ways to use business and nonprofit organizations as tools for more sustainable communities.
In spring quarter there may be an opportunity for a limited number of students to travel to Vietnam as part of their international learning experience.
This program is for students with strong interests in organization management, inclusive workplace practices, organizational culture change and leadership.
