Description

Art History I is an exploration of the surviving art and artifacts of the most ancient Western civilizations: the ancient Near East, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The European middle ages will also be covered. In addition to a text, students will critically read primary source documents to facilitate their understanding of the cultures, religions, and the role of visual art. Students will be tested over material and, as part of a team, make a presentation to the class.
