This course emphasizes beginning-level skill development in camera function, exposure, and black-and-white film development and printing as well as an introduction to digital imaging.  We will focus on photography's role in issues of the arts, cultural representation, and mass media.  Students will have assignments, critiques, collaborations, and viewing of work by other photographers.  Each student will complete a final project for the end of the quarter.
