Algebraic Thinking is Evergreen's entry-point college-level math class.  The course develops problem-solving and critical-thinking skills by using algebra to solve context-based problems.  Problems are approached algebraically, graphically, numerically, and verbally.  Topics include function notation, linear, quadratic, and exponential functions.  Collaborative learning is emphasized.
Algebraic Thinking is designed for students who are considering areas of study such as education, science, mathematics, or economics and who have not completed previous college-level course work in mathematics or who have been away from math for quite some time. This course meets Evergreen's Master in Teaching college algebra requirement.
