Energy Policy Analysis

Summer 2016 quarter (Session I)

Taught by

public administration

How do we transform the energy systems of the U.S. and the world to provide us with the energy we need, in an environmentally sustainable way? The threat from climate change has made the search for answers to this question vital to our collective future.  This course will examine how public policy in the energy sector is crafted in the U.S. and other countries, with a focus on how analysis can clarify the scenarios available to us, and their potential consequences.  We will also examine the many dimensions of energy, including sources, technologies, the operation of energy markets, and the economic, social, national security and environmental implications of energy use.
