EDITIONS WE'LL BE USING
For all our readings, the "official canonical texts" will be the Signet Classic editions. They'll be available in the TESC Bookstore.
In buying the Signet Classic editions, do not buy the ones with several plays in one volume (entitled Three Comedies, Four Great Tragedies, etc.). Do buy the ones with just one play in each volume.
The reason we're chosen these texts in separate volumes is that each one contains a selection of helpful historical and critical literature to assist your reading. You don't have to read all of the critical commentaries, but we want you to have access to them. We'll ask everyone to serve as a "scout" and master the critical commentaries on one or two texts each quarter, in order to tell the rest of us which articles are important to read.
