We'll see films of Shakespeare's plays regularly - usually weekly - in class. We'll try to see more than one version of every play.

We'll be attending Shakespeare productions in Seattle and Portland during the program.

We'll be attending the Tygres Heart Shakespeare Company's presentation of Othello on Thursday evening, October 31, in Portland. We've arranged for tickets at a group rate.

Tygres Heart is also presenting Richard III from January 17 to February 16. We'll arrange a date for the program to see the play.

These new Shakespeare films will be released during the program:

• A modern-dress Romeo and Juliet;
• An all-star version of Hamlet directed by Kenneth Branagh;
• An Al Pacino (screenwriter, director, and star!) film about making a film of Richard III;
• The first-ever film version of Twelfth Night.

We want to attend the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland at the end of the program. In fact, we wanted to attend at the beginning of the program, but fewer plays are shown at the end of the season than in peak season.  We're on the list for advance information about Spring offerings, and we hope at least two different plays will be performed on a weekend near the end of the program, so that we can take a field trip. This advance information will also be available to you for ordering tickets during Spring and Summer.
