Black and White Photography:

This elective will involve learning the basics of black and white photography and the use of the 35mm camera.  It is designed for those of you without any prior experience in photography.  Because we will have so little time allotted for this activity, the course is NOT intended to substitute for a beginning photography module. If you come to Europe in the Spring Quarter, you will have a more in-depth exposure to photography when we get to Florence and (if all goes as planned) we have access to darkroom facilities there.

You do not need a camera for this elective as you can check them out from Media Loan.  You will, however, need to purchase film and paper, each of which are available on campus through Photo Services on the first floor of the Library.

There is no required text for this elective.

Our meeting times will be Wednesdays from 9:00 until noon.  We meet in the Photo Classroom which is directly across from the Darkoom, Library 1340.
