ADDITIONAL READINGS FOR SEMINARS

The materials listed below are all on reserve in the Library in a single folder. You will need to know, when you go in there, which you need, or check the program web page while in the library.

Some items are short articles, some are longer booklets or whole issues of magazines. It is the faculty's expectation that you will get to know the contents of at least two of them quite well.

In preparation for seminar you should make notes about they ways these sources connect to the assigned readings -- the ways in which they support, disagree with, are different in tone or methodology, help you see gender more clearly. You should bring those notes to seminar. You should also prepare a short "report" 5 minutes max, summarizing the key points you want others to know.

In seminar itself, you should interject into the conversation, at appropriate times, information from these readings. The seminar facilitator may call on you to present your report at the time he or she chooses, but there is no requirement that the report be used.
