Research Project – option #2

Choose a new treatment/therapy currently used in the rehabilitation field.Research it from a historical, as well as therapeutic aspect.Please be sure to include the following in your research:

• Name of therapy/treatment – and person/group attributed with its innovation.
• Year it was introduced / how widespread is it?
• What specialists use this new therapy/treatment?
• Are there specific disabilities that would use this therapy/treatment – name them, and identify how this therapy/treatment impacts outcome for rehab
• Does insurance pay for this therapy/treatment? Special costs involved?
• Is this available in the Thurston County region/vicinity? Where?
• Explain how this therapy/treatment works. Demonstration? Be sure to identify any special /additional equipment used in the administration of this therapy/treatment
• Anything else about the therapy/treatment that is interesting or pertinent
