The Goal of the fold book is to test and apply your skills in your chosen print medium.

Your medium of choice (monotype, drypoint, letterpress) should be the major emphasis of the piece. If minor elements of other media seem necessary, they are permissible.

Size/length restrictions are only those made by the equipment. Irecommend restricting yourself to a single folded sheet (not several long sheets glued or hooked end to end) that will fit easily in the press bed.

Monotype and drypoint users will be particulary affected by the available plates. Letterpress printers are more seriously affected by the size of the bed (and the availability of type).

For your first assignment, i do not recommend printing on both sides of the paper.

Your design for the fold book should take into account both the serial itinerary through the book and the open display.

You should pay special attention to what "happens" at the folds from page to page: how can you "activate" this feature of the book? How can the form in general carry information or meaning?
