STUDENT TEACHING FALL 2004

SEMINAR DAY/TIME: Wednesdays 4-7 pm, bring a sack dinner with you if necessary

Place:

First Seminar: Wednesday September 8, 2004

Last Seminar: Wednesday November 10, 2004

Due Weekly:

1.  Weekly Overview:  Fill in the whole day for each day of the week.  Highlight what you are teaching
2.  2 Lesson plans for given criteria each week:  1 best and 1 to be improved
3.  Critique for each plan:  use rubric to identify what makes it best, needing improvement,  identify areas for change
4.  Weekly reflection
5.  Assigned Chapters in Best Practice
6. Emerging assignments may also be given in seminar each week
Due Each Observation:
1.  3 ring binder with ALL lesson plans and post teacing reflections
2.  Gradebook, or assessment tracking records
3.  Examples of written feedback to students*
*Note:  if you aren't giving written feedback, you need to document in some way how you are giving feedback to students, for instance a video tape
 
Other Major Assignments:
 
1.  SEMINAR BOOK: Best Practice  Chapters assigned weekly

2. VIDEO: Each person will be required to submit one video  of a teacher-facilitated discussion for peer critique during weeks 5, 6, 7, or 8

  • Sign up for tape showing times
  • Bring tape to seminar cued to spot for critique
  • Bring your self assessment of  video on given rubric
  • Tapes must be of you facilitating a discussion--NOT of students working!
  • 3. CULTURAL ENCAPSULATION:  Due  Week 9 Wednesday November 3

    4. EALR PROJECT      Due Week 10 Wednesday November 10

    5. FINAL PRESENTATION ALBUM:       Due Week 10 Wednesday November 10
