FOR CSCW folks to confirm the PAPER requirement.
On Tursday, May 6, a statement of purpose, with your main ideas (a paragraph), and then either an outline or a first draft, is due (at 9:30).

On Thursday, May 21, the final paper is due.

Some of you may know of my strange attraction towards the idea of "Robert's Rules of Order -- revised for distributed, asynchonous, virtual meetings" that I mentioned in my book and in other times of weakness.

This as you may surmise is one attempt to design a process for orderly meetings in cyberspace. It is almost certainly to have a strong web component and it may or may not have an e-mail component as well. I don't think that Robert's Rules are that difficult so please don't that be a major obstacle if you're interested. I am assuming that the environment would be Unix and programming would be in Tcl, Perl, Lite, Java, C, or C++ but I'm willing to entertain other possible approaches.

I wanted to let you all know that I am very interested in sponsoring this type of work if any of you (as an individual or, hopefully, part of a small team) are interested in a summer (and/or fall) contract. Please get back to me if you're interested!

I'm certainly willing to discuss these ideas in more detail with anybody who may be interested.

Thanks for giving this some consideration!
-- Doug
