ORISSI/ODISSI DANCE

Experimental Choreographies

One of the leading Liberal Arts colleges in America, The Evergreen State College tends toward a greater openness for innovation in teaching than some more traditional universities might allow. This tolerance for creativity and pushing of accepted boundaries has enabled Ratna Roy to create the three year Orissi curriculium at TESC. It has also allowed Ratna opportunity to stretch herself and her artform in previously unexplored ways. Below are listed fullstage productions that have come to pass as products of Evergreen's tolerance for academic diversity and Ratna's desire to explore potentials of Odissi Dance in interrogating the status quo. Please excuse the state of incompleteness and ongoing 'construction' in this page. Thank you.
