Spring Quarter

Welcome to the Web site for Student-Originated Software, a year-long full time program at The Evergreen State College.

The program teaches software engineering through a half time team capstone project and half time upper division computer science courses.

This site focuses on spring quarter. Click on the Nav Bar at right for the quarter of interest to you. Fall Quarter (navigate to the documents page and look at the syllabus) gives the program vision.

For Evaluation Week:

  • Conferences: EvalConference contains the schedule of evaluation conferences with Judy.
  • Self Evaluations: Please email Judy your project self evaluation ASAP if you did not give it to her at the Retreat on June 9. email your draft year-long self evaluation to her by 8pm the evening prior to your conference.
  • Faculty Evaluation: PLEASE BRING YOUR EVALUATIONS OF JUDY and SHERRI WITH YOU TO THE CONFERENCE; it's OK to give that to the program secretary instead of Judy.
  • Graduation: If people are interested, and there is money in the budget, Judy can do a reception for graduates and their families, and other people in the program on FRIDAY PRIOR TO GRADUATION. Please RSVP (including regrets) for this event.
  • Projects contains information about projects the students are working on, and links to their web sites.
  • The Software Fair contains information about end-of-the-year demonstrations of student projects - Check it out!
  • Documents contains documents of interest to students, incl. the program schedule and expectations and requirements for Seminar and Projects.
