Arts, Environment and the Child: Walking the Wheel of the Seasons

Amy

Winter is graciously pouring in and I am caught in the rain. I seek to tune myself into the seasons, so now I am delving into the darkness, the grayness, the dreaminess, and appreciating my shadows and the things that stir in me. I am more of a sunseeker by nature, but understanding darkness is also understanding light. This winter, I am more interested in the stirrings of plants than ever. I am excited to watch their hibernation and rebirth, and also connect it to mine; seeking to feed my connection to the natural world, so dulled from being an urban warrior in the big city.

Its time to light a candle, eat soup, and philosophize...time to work with children and live off their spark...time to work with elders and live off their stories...time walk to the creek near my homestead and nature journal ...time to decant fall tinctures and nourish myself with my own plant medicine... time to read books, watch too many movies, and drink tea... (oh yes ... but it is always time to drink tea!) And thus this quarter in Walking the Wheel I will do all these things I love and more. I look forward to what all this will bring...

PS This site is always in progress so please be patient with the errors and check back for revisions!

oh, and stay tuned for more info on The Nature Consortium, an awesome volunteer project I'm doing.
