Arts, Environment and the Child: Walking the Wheel of the Seasons

Amy

Hi, I am amy. I work with art, herbs, and children because it brings meaning my life, children’s lives, and the lives of the community around us. I teach kids about gymnastics, arts, gardening, and herbs. I also play with them and host parties for them. I spend a lot of time brewing up medicinal concoctions from our plant friends. It is an intensly gratifying passion of mine. It seems to flow forth from me with little conscious effort, and feels very true to my nature. My favorite non-medicinal plants are Purple Passion Plant, and Coleus; and the medicinal’s change all too often to name favorites (though right now I'm partial to burdock). I also like to involve myself in revolutions on my bicycle, through the vicious hills of seattle and beyond. I am happy to be back in school. I took the last year off to focus on life and self learning and it did me wonders, but I am inspired to be in the classroom again. Fall is a gracious time for this change. I look forward to connecting with all I come in contact with in and outside this classroom.

Blessings,

ami
