Arts, Environment and the Child: Walking the Wheel of the Seasons

Jeneé Scroggins

The focus surrounding my studies here at The Evergreen State College has mostly been in education, so I am really excited that this course affords the opportunity to work with children and nature.

I have a three-year-old boy, Ryan, who is the light of my life. The beauty of his innocence and pureness has opened my eyes to the world in which I once merely existed, but now belong, embrace and take in with a magnitude of feelings I cannot finds words for.

I am really excited to begin my work at the Peterson garden. I love getting my hands dirty and doing physically tasking work. My knowledge of gardening is minimal to non-existent, but I don't forsee this as being a barrier to my success.
