Arts, Environment and the Child: Walking the Wheel of the Seasons

Stephanie Nuñezgil

I am a second year student at Evergreen and a senior this year. I am 22 years old and will have my BA at the end of this school year. I also work at the Evergreen Child Care Center here on campus in the infant room. I have worked in child care for 4 years now which has laid a good foundation in learning about child development and has prepared me for teaching in grades K-9. In the future I would also like to open a bilingual preschool that allows children to learn in a very natural environment as well as culturally diverse. I would also like to research more about what motivates children to learn in order to keep kids interested in school and learning throughout their lives.

I have been married just over 1 year now and my husband is currently serving in Iraq but will be home in December. I don't have any children of my own yet but would like to once I have finished with school. I do have a cat named Gizmo who is not the average cat. Also while attending school, I care for my nephews 1 day a week which is usually where my free time goes. On occasion I enjoy oil painting and scrapbooking (usually in the summer because that's the only time I have free). I also love learning about different cultures.

Here are just a few pictures from Fall quarter...If you would like copies of the rest feel free to email me.
