Weekly Guide

week 1:
Read in "Festivals Together" about Celebration crafts.
Research appropriate projects for our Harvest Festival.
Participate and create other Harvest Festivals in the community.
For esoteric meaning of the festivals read The Cycle of the Year As Breathing in R. Steiner lectures. This is his first lecture. There are 3 more lectures in this cycle in the R. Steiner Archive.

For the Saturday www workshop please have your TESC password and log-in. If you don't have them, please register ASAP. If you are having trouble registering contact the consultants at the TESC Computer Center ASAP.

Week 2

This is the week of Ramadan and high holidays of Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashana) and Day of Attonment (Yom Kipur).

Week 3

This is a week of Chong Yang Jie festival. On Saturday we are going on our pilgrimage to Mt. Rainier. In preparation please read the excellent Curriculum Guides developed by Mt. Rainier Education department. If this link does not work, you can get to it from Mt. Rainier site. Click on Education Programs. Also please study the effect of mountains on environment and weather. Do your own www searches to better understand how to create a curriculum about the importance of Mt. Rainier. Read mountain poetry:

Week 4
Liberal Arts Forum

Week 5
This is an important, half-way through the quarter evaluation point. Please update your www Project Log and Project Reflections. Bring and turn in your Nature Journals.
On Saturday we will meet at 9am in our TESC classroom. In the early afternoon we will car pool to Skokomish.

Week 6
On Wednesday, 7-9pm we will celebrate our DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS. Please bring a dish to share and, if you want, pictures of your loved ones that have passed, for the altar.

Week 7
We will be celebrating Diwali, Please bring a sweet to share and a symbol of "abundance" (could be fruit, flowers, nuts, chocolate, coins, etc.)
Research and read about Diwali. You can even download a screen saver with Lakshmi to get into the mood.

Week 8
Painted Word workshop in preparation for the opening of the New Year art show Painted Word at TESC library. Please research and try to understand what does "In the beginning was the word" means?

Week 9
Bring your Nature Journal for a pier review.
Complete all WWW Project Log, Reflections, Curriculum, and Plant Study pages.
Ask the teacher in the classroom where you volunteered your help to send the evaluation of your work
