Evaluator Instructions:  Please read your colleague’s assignment and provide them feedback based on the criteria below.  Please circle the box in each category that best describes the writing and complete the back of this form.  Your feedback must document examples from your colleague’s writing that support your assessment.

Organization The sequence of information does not flow. The organizational structure does not establish connections between/among ideas. The writing jumps around.  The organizational structure establishes some relationships between/among some of the ideas. The writing shows information in a logical sequence.  The organizational structure establishes relationships between/among most of the ideas. The writing shows information in a logical, interesting sequence that flows.  The organizational structure clearly establishes and elaborates on relationships between/among ideas.
Content Knowledge The writing does not emphasize the  reading content; the writing  does not answer questions about the subject or assignment. The writing reveals basic concepts. The writing explores the content, but does not elaborate. The writing demonstrates full knowledge of the content and elaborates.
Style/structure Sentence fluency and basic grammatical structures are missing.  There are multiple spelling errors. The writing demonstrates minimal sentence fluency. Spelling and grammatical errors are present. The writing demonstrates reasonable sentence fluency and grammatical structures.  Spelling is correct. The writing demonstrates skillful sentence fluency (varies length, good flow rhythm, and varied structure).  Grammar and spelling are correct.  The writing effectively engages the reader.
Paragraph Structure Paragraphs do not contain complete ideas and transitions between paragraphs are weak. Some paragraphs contain complete ideas but transitions between paragraphs need improvement. Most paragraphs contain complete ideas and transitions between paragraphs are strong. Paragraphs contain complete ideas and transitions between paragraphs are strong and effective.
References/Support Information Support information is missing and/or not related to topic/subject or is confusing. Support information has major weaknesses in relatedness to and/or in support of the topic/subject. Support information has minor weaknesses in relatedness to and/or in support of the topic/subject. Support information is related to and in support of topic/subject.
Thesis Statement The thesis statement is not identifiable. The thesis statement is ambiguous and/or not supported. The thesis statement is stated but weakly supported. The thesis statement is clearly stated and effectively supported.
