Here are the resources you have for getting help in this course:

1.  Ab
I had planned to be available for several hours online on Tuesday evening via IM, Skype or email.  Since only 1 group is meeting on Tuesday evening, this is not going to be effective.  Instead, I will end formal class at 9pm on Thursday and will be available until 10 in our classroom for individual or group help.  In addition, please contact me via email.   Either ask a question using the atsp10abve@hotmail.com email directly, or give me some dates and times where I can give you a call, meet via IM, phone, or Skype, or be available during your group for specific help.  Also, come with questions prepared to ask at the beginning of class, before the exams.

2.  Each other
You will be working in groups of 3.  Some of you will remember a topic from earlier classes you have had in math.  You will then become a tutor for the others in your group who are still shakey.  By helping other students, you will cement the topic in your own memory.  If you are one of the shakey students, make SURE you do not sit on your hands and assume you will figure it out on your own.  Use the resources of the others in your group.  Also, make sure you exercise your learning adequately by being able to answer a question type 3-5 times in a row correctly and quickly.

3.  Quasr center
I have been very impressed with the professionalism and willingness to help from these folks.  Use them!  Their hours are:  M-TH, 11am-8pm,  Friday and Sunday from 12-5pm.  They are closed on Saturdays.  They have several rooms where your group can meet.  If possible, that is an excellent choice, since they are close by if you need help.  Make sure you understand clearly HOW they arrived at the solution and that you could repeat the process.  Then.. practice and make sure.

4.  Web resources
There are a number of good websites with tutorials in Algebra, Trig, College Algebra, Discrete Math, and Story Problems.  The following are 2 directories of good help resources:
     http://www.themathpage.com/aPreCalc/equation-of-a-line.htm
    http://www.khake.com/page47.html

I have gone through many of these.  I will refer to some of them as activities in the course.  The best ones I have found so far, and the ones you should start with and look at now are:
      http://www.wtamu.edu/academic/anns/mps/math/mathlab/beg_algebra/index.htm
http://www.purplemath.com/modules/index.htm
http://www.algebra-class.com/index.html
http://www.themathpage.com/alg/algebra.htm
Remember, the tutorials may refer to something you have not yet seen that was covered in an earlier module.  You can go back and review that module  (ie absolute value, LCM, etc) or just skip the problems that refer to something you are unfamilier and ask about them in class.

5.  MOST IMPORTANT…. MAKE THE EFFORT TO GET HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT, AND GET IT SOON.  DO NOT TRY TO CRAM AT THE END.  YOU WILL HAVE DUG YOURSELF AN INTRACTABLE POINT HOLE AND YOU WILL NOT REMEMBER WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED EVEN A FEW WEEKS AFTER THE END OF CLASS!
