Topics include cultural encapsulation, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Need, Language of Oppression, review the Wa Tribal/State Agreement, and Review the Child Welfare Ordinance of Puget Sound Tribes.  Films: In the White Man’s Image and Voices of Hope.

 

 

May 8th           Saturday 10-3 Longhouse 1007A

Basketry as Therapy – We’re going to invite Canoe Families from Chehalis, Skokomish, Squaxin, and Nisqually to join us to make small items for the 2010 canoe journey.  We will show several related film clips, have a textbook display for students to build their bibliography, and have several basketry items on display. 

Graduating Indian students from several programs across campus will join us to weave their mortarboards and sew honor shawls.
