wow! Looks great folks. Very thorough. I don't have much more to add. obviously frogs have been used to understand vision in general (particular motion detection). Here are a few general comments but I think you addressed everything. just go over it and make sure. Nice stories too!

amphibians can teach us about how fish see and land animals see (refractive index) are they near or far sighted in water or land? they can't have it both ways!

what about tadpoles? can they see? are they like a fish? how does it change? frogs can retract their eyes but can't move them back and forth. do frogs secrete tears?

I read that frogs are attracted to the color blue, and avoid green (i think they did an experiment where they have a choice on where to jump on colored spots) true? Why? nocturnal versus diurnal amphibians

I have been told that frogs will starve to death if you put insects in their cage that are dead. they need it to move to detect them. True? Does this mean that they can't see stationary objects?

Hey fellow amphibians!

Over the break I did some research on frog, toad, and salamander optic structure and neural processing. I put it all in a Word doc and hesitated to add any of it to our Wiki page until we decide upon how we would like to format the contents. If anyone has any suggestions, I think it would be useful to start organizing our info a bit.

Finally, would everyone mind adding their digits to this discussion page for the purposes of coordination? It seemed redundant last week since I assumed many of us were out of town, but as we're finishing things up through week 9 it may be helpful to keep in touch. Hi again groupies, I had an overnight layover in Boise and was supposed to fly back into Seattle early this morning, but I somehow overslept past the hour-prior check in cutoff (what with the immense comfort of the airport terminal floor) and missed my flight. I'll be back in town this evening but will miss what I assume will be a workshop time dedicated to Wiki work.
