She asked if I would forward it to the Evergreen community after hearing about the many heartfelt e-mail messages that have been sent among us. Along with discussion of a downtown memorial, Carolyn talks about the idea of a compilation of stories about Jacinta. Please, if any of you are willing to send to Carolyn your initial e-mail response - especially in its simple, powerful unedited form - I think that each one would contribute to a wonderful tapestry of who Jacinta was/is through all of our feelings and tales. Additional stories, along with help in producing the compilation are also welcomed. Please note that the flier is also posted on the Radiance website along with a picture of Jacinta. Click on the “Jacinta McKoy” link that is above the photograph of the Radiance staff. The address is: -Marja *** *** *** *** *** Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground. -Rumi Our dear friend Jacinta McKoy passed away unexpectedly last Thursday, March 18th. She touched the lives of so many people in this community, and there is much to process from this great loss. Many are wondering what plans are being made to celebrate Jacinta’s life. Here’s what is known so far: Evergreen will organize a memorial to be held at the Longhouse, probably sometime during the week of April 4th. The college wants to wait for everyone to return from spring break. A downtown event is in the works and will likely include some of these elements: A procession through town, stopping at Jacinta’s favorite places. A flower drop at Percival Landing or Heritage Park A celebration of Jacinta’s life at the Waterstreet Café Ballroom. Some ideas for the celebration include live music, sharing stories about Jacinta, and a potluck - perhaps some of her favorite restaurants will participate by providing a contribution to the potluck. We are gathering stories about Jacinta - there are ideas for a compilation of some sort. We welcome all submissions. Stories, ideas, resources and suggestions may be offered by e-mailing: radiance@radianceherbs.com Or by calling Carolyn McIntyre at Radiance, 357-5250. Best days to contact her are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week. If you submit a story we will assume that you are comfortable with it being reprinted for others to see. More details will be available as soon as they are known. Contact Radiance or Traditions or Evergreen.
