It made me a little happier to see her picture on this day where I feel so rattled by the news of her death. To all, I had such unique interactions with Jacinta. However, as I’m reading through all of these e-mails I’m learning how unique and far-reaching Jacinta’s spirit is. The week before Day of Absence, Day of Presence, I walked into one of the conference rooms where Jacinta was finishing up some work with Holly Colbert and Raquel Salinas. We made some fun small talk, and at the end, she said, “So why don’t you get up and dance on this table?!” And I did. Now for those of you who know me, I do many eccentric things, but dancing isn’t something I would say I do openly — just another example of how Jacinta brought out the best in people, and this is only one of the many gifts she shared with us daily. I think today is another kind of Day of Absence, Day of Presence as we remember and cherish Jacinta’s well-lived life. I will miss her as I’ve come to know that each meeting with her was an event of epic proportion, laughter, and truth. Peace to you, Jacinta. Thanks for all your support, kindness, fun, love, and wisdom. Sandy
