Individual study offers students the opportunity to develop self-direction, to learn how to manage a personal project, and to focus on unique combinations of interesting topics. Students are invited to submit a proposal if they are interested in investigating one of the following areas in genetics and developmental biology: molecular mechanisms of axis determination, pattern formation, embryogenesis, stem cells, gene regulation, and epigenetic inheritance. In order to be successful, students should have a solid background in the principles of molecular biology and be able to work independently.
