Description

Through writing exercises, informal reader responses to published literature, workshops, and seminars on selected readings, students will be guided toward improving their writing and storytelling skills and gaining a deeper understanding of narrative nonfiction and the short story. Participants will develop practical, transferrable knowledge of literary genres, writing as a craft and process, and story analysis. Overall, students will be directed toward becoming more capable and confident readers and writers and more self-aware individuals. The major project for the course will be a 10-15 page narrative memoir.
