Quantitative Research in the Public Interest Quantitative Research in the Public InterestcancelledFall quarter Credits:4Faculty:Helena Meyer-Knapp, 867-6549Enrollment:25Meeting Times:Tue, 6-9:45pSchedule:Class ScheduleCRN:10371Businesses determining marketing strategies, colleges evaluating their teaching methods and non-profit groups seeking funding all need the same thing: tangible data to prove the effectiveness of their work. Students in this course will design and conduct a real-world, quantitative assessment and then analyze their data. In the process they will learn survey and question design, content analysis and data coding. They will learn appropriate consent protocols and get a basic introduction to SPSS, a statistical analysis computer software program. There will also be an opportunity for a small, individually designed qualitative research project. |
