Note: It is recommended that you register for second session by June 24 to better your chances of getting into your classes of choice.

Registration

Students admitted to the college must register on the Web, at www.evergreen.edu/registration, at or after their assigned time ticket starting May 16. Summer registration is concurrent with fall registration on the Evergreen Gateway. For summer, Web registration will end on June 15 when tuition is due, then reopen June 20–24. Beginning Monday, June 20, all late summer-quarter registration must be in person or by mail.

Students not admitted to the college can register by mail or in person. For mail, use the registration form. Students choosing Extended Education curriculum must use the Extended Education Registration Form.
Include all necessary faculty signatures for approvals. Mail your form to Registration and Records for processing beginning May 25. If your form is mailed after June 20, you must enclose a check or money order for tuition and fees. In-person registration begins on Wednesday, May 25 and continues until June 24, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Academic Fair

May 11, 4–6 p.m.

The Academic Fair brings together faculty and Student Services staff to help students get information about Evergreen’s programs, courses and graduate programs. You can talk directly to faculty about program content and requirements and get suggestions for alternatives.

Summer Credit Load

Students should enroll for no more than 8 credits per summer session for a maximum of 16 credits for the full quarter. Students may register to take an overload for a maximum of 20 credits at a recommended limit of 10 credits per summer session. Graduate students may enroll for a maximum of 12 credits during summer session. During summer session, students may register for part time, full time or an overload whether they are formally admitted to the college or not.

Registration Approvals/Overrides

Programs and courses listed in the Summer Times may cite requirements. If a faculty signature is required or if a student does not have the required class level, the student must contact the faculty to receive an approval or override. Students may obtain a dated faculty signature to register in person. If Web-registering, the approval or class override must be entered on the Gateway prior to registration. See prerequisites listed in the Summer Times or on the Evergreen Gateway for more information.

Refunds

To receive a full 100-percent refund for summer school, students must notify Registration and Records in writing or by e-mail of their withdrawal. For the full 10-week session or the first five-week session, this must be done by Friday, June 24; for the second five-week session, by Friday, July 29. After these dates there will be no refunds. There is no refund for the $50 late fee.

Late Registration

Late registration for summer will be allowed June 20-24 for first and full sessions and July 25-29 for second session only. Late registration requires an additional $50 fee. Faculty approval is required if class is full.

Contracts and Internships

Individual Learning Contracts and Internship Learning Contracts must be registered in person in the Office of Registration and Records with the appropriate documentation by the registration deadlines listed. Plan ahead, if possible. Internship contracts require prior review and approval by the Academic Advising Office. After registration, final approval of all contracts is determined after review by the summer academic dean. Financial Aid

Students who are interested in applying for financial aid during the 2005 summer quarter must:
  • be a continuing, regularly admitted Evergreen student
  • be registered for at least six credits if undergraduate and at least four if graduate
  • complete the summer 2005 interest form available mid-April from the Financial Aid Office no later than June 3, 2005
  • be fully registered for the ENTIRE summer by June 24, 2005 (both sessions)
The total costs used to determine students' financial aid eligibility are based on the length of the sessions for which they are registered; either five or 10 weeks in length. Questions regarding summer financial aid should be addressed to the Financial Aid Office at (360) 867-6205.

Veteran’s Information

Southeast Asian and Persian Gulf veterans may apply for a reduction in tuition. Please contact Registration and Records for information. Veterans receiving educational benefits during the summer should contact the Office of Veterans Affairs prior to registration to discuss the requirements for certification.

Parking

All vehicles parked at The Evergreen State College from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, are required to display a valid Evergreen parking permit. A summer parking permit costs $32. Daily permits are $1.25. Permits may be purchased at the Parking Office, Seminar 2150. Daily passes may be purchased at the parking booth on McCann Plaza.
