    Overview:  read Tipler Ch.15, Ch.40, and Caylin&Brian's tutorial on Fusion

    Changes:  Caylin's tutorial is not yet available, so we'll do that later.

    On Thursday morning, Zita will introduce the wave equation.  Then Teams 1 and 2 have about half an hour each to do their examples and get us started on a quick in-class workshop.  Everyone should bring a question on Ch.15.

    On Thursday afternoon, Zita and Caylin will review Fusion and Ch.40.  Then Team 3 will have about half an hour to do their example and get us started on some homework.  Everyone should bring a question on Ch.40 and one on the Fusion tutorial.

    Team 1: Ch.15:  Wave Equation, part 1

    Read carefully through Example 15-3 on page 448.
    Then work the Exercise that appears after the Example.

    Note your questions as you work through this, and write them down.
    Questions which you answer in the process:  pose these to the class, to help them gain the understanding you just achieved.
    Questions which you still have:  ask Zita in class.

    Prepare the Exercise for presentation to the class in under half an hour.  Be careful to define terms (with units) and explicitly state any assumptions you make.

    Then you will get the class started on working #17(a) (p.473) together.

    Team 2: Ch.15:  Wave Equation, part 2

    Read carefully through Example 15-4 on page 450.
    Then work problem #29 (p.474), which is quite similar..

    Note your questions as you work through this, and write them down.
    Questions which you answer in the process:  pose these to the class, to help them gain the understanding you just achieved.
    Questions which you still have:  ask Zita in class.

    Prepare #29 for presentation to the class in under half an hour.  Be careful to define terms (with units) and explicitly state any assumptions you make.

    Then you will get the class started on working #28 together.

    Team 3: Ch.40:  Fusion

    Read carefully through Example 40-5 on page 1295.
    Then work problem #35 (p.1310), which is quite similar..

    Questions which you still have:  ask Zita in class.

    Prepare #35 for presentation to the class in under half an hour.  Be careful to define terms (with units) and explicitly state any assumptions you make.

    Then help the class work together to set up #47
