War Would Speed Global Warming

President Bush continues to channel the nation's attention on the debacle
of war, while the even more dangerous problem of global warming continues
to go recklessly uncontrolled and unmanaged. For each 1,000 gallons of
fuel burned in the war effort, an additional 11 tons of the greenhouse
gas carbon dioxide is emitted to the atmosphere.
