The Silver Sky Anthology of Pacific Northwestern Poetry was an idea developed by faculty,
Bill Ransom and Matt Smith. The Anthology contains biographies, poems and critical
essays of the work of famous, contemporary and up-and-coming poets alike. Each poet was
interviewed by a group of students from the class (deceased poet's living relations were
interviewed about their lives) and that group of students then wrote a biography of the
poet. Synthesizing biography and poetry, critical essays were written about each poet's
specific body of work, often refering to the poet's poems included in the project.
Winter quarter, many students were involved in the copy editing, design, layout and
illustration of the anthology. |
