THE ROUND-TRIP TRAIN FARE IS NOW $32. You’re welcome to take your own car and meet us in Portland at 11 a.m (exact location to be announced.) Free vans will also be available from campus, but sign up so we know how many will be going this way. They will leave at 8:45 a.m. from the traffic circle.
Everyone should bring a few dollars to take the light rail in Portland for our tour. Everyone will ride the light rail for the tour — no vans or cars.
If you take the train, YOU MUST RESERVE, BOOK, AND PAY FOR YOUR OWN FARE. Do this soon! There are some special deals for students and Mastercard holders online. You can book your fare on the web at http://www.amtrak.com/ or on the phone at 1-800-872-7245
Here’s the train information: You must get the 8:55 a.m. train. You need to arrange your own ride to the station, so if you don’t have a car, find a classmate to take you right away. Be there about 10 minutes early, and don’t be late! On the return trip, you can either get the 4:05 p.m. train, which we’ll be done in time to catch, or you can hang around a bit longer and get the 6:15 train. That appears to be the last one for the night.
