Recovery Stroke
Nervous Innervation stops
Action Potential declines
Acetylcholine is degraded and removed from muscle fibers
Calcium is broken off of troponin/tropomyosin complex and returns to sarcoplasmic reticulum [requires energy]
ATP is necessary to remove myosin from actin’s binding site
Once calcium is gone, troponin/tropomyosin swivel back towards actin’s binding site
Myofilaments return to resting position
