Membranes
Thin sheet or layer of tissue that covers structures or lines a cavity. Most are formed by a layer of connective and epithelium
- Mucous –line cavities and canals that open to the outside environment; contain glands
- Serous – line cavities that don’t open to the outside environment; no glands
- Synovial - line joint capsule in freely moveable joints
- Meninges – specialized membrane – surrounds CNS
