GOALS/OBJECTIVES:

Through readings, small and large group discussion, lecture, individual research, and a written exam, students will:
 

1. identify differences between a middle school and junior high

2. apply concepts of middle school to analyze school philosophy statements based on middle school criteria

3. identify and discuss middle school concepts and terms

4. Identify and discuss developmental aspects of middle school learners

5. be able to identify and discuss developmental theories

6. Describe the stages of early, middle, late adolescence and identify the needs at each stage
