Step 1 – logoff – logon.
- Click on the Start button on the lower left
of the screen (Click will mean that you position the cursor on the object
and depress the left mouse button. Right-click will mean depress the right
mouse button.)
- Select the Shut Down option.
- Select the Log-Off option
- After the machine logs you off, hold the Ctrl
and Alt keys down and depress the Delete key.
- This should get you to the log on menu. Type in
your user name and your password and click on the OK button.
- You are now logged onto this machine and onto the
school’s network.
- IMPORTANT – YOU MUST LOGOFF WHEN YOU ARE DONE.
If you do not, the next person who uses the machine will have access to
all of your stuff.
Step 2 – email.
- There are two basic ways to access your email account.
- Using your web browser (this method will work
from anywhere)–
- Go to www.evergreen.edu/exchange
- Type in your user name and password
- Unless it from your person machine, don’t select
the save password option.
- Do your business
- Close your bowser.
- From school you can use OUTLOOK directly.
- From your desktop, double-click on the OUTLOOK
icon
- Unless it from your person machine, don’t select
the save password option
- Do your business
- Close OUTLOOK
- Forwarding your email
- Go to www.evergreen.edu/computing/email.htm
- From this page you can see how the computing center
folks give advice and help to students about email
- To forward your mail select the Self Service Networks
Requests link and follow the directions.
- At this point any email that is sent to your evergreen
email address will be automatically forwarded to whatever account you
select.
