Classroom Management Assignment
Week 5:
- Skim Chapter 1
- Take the quiz in chapter on and use the results to place your self on the
Teacher Behavior Continuum.
- Read chapter two and select the classroom management system that best fits
where you placed yourself on the continuum. From the three major groups of
management systems hat best fits your quiz result, read the first page of
the related section, scan the chapters and choose the chapter in that section
that best fits your place on the continuum. Read that chapter very carefully
thinking about how the system relates teaching, learning and schooling.

- The most commonly used system in schools in our area is the Assertive Discipline
model (Chapter 5.) Read Chapter 5 carefully and ask if I have to use this
model, can I do it humanely.
- Scan the other chapters to get the basic features of each system.
Week 7 - Read chapters 13 and 14. Bring a one page draft of your presonal system
of classroom management. You will be required to put a one page statement of
your classroom management system in your advancement to student teaching portfolio.

- week 5
- Class will start with an interanlization check on the basic features
of each system of management.
- The class will then work in groups in the case studies at the end
of chapters.
- Week 6 - Carol Minugh and a group of students will give a panel presentation
related to the book Through the Eyes of the Judged.
- Week 7 - Students will work in groups to present sceniarios based on
the various management models.
