Assignment for Week 5:
You will complete your special
education portfolio before class next week and bring it with you
for a workshop. The portfolioshould
contain:
1) A title page and table of contents
2) All your corrected take-home quizzes
3) Annotations of the child and adolescent
books you read and of the web-sites you reviewed
4) The summary pages you completed for
the disability you presented in your small group - characteristics and
common accommodations
5 )The lesson plan you adapted for the
disability you presented in your small group
6) Four revised lesson plans from last
quarter that demonstrate new accommodations for:

Receptive communication disorder
-
Specific learning disability - you choose
the type
-
ADHD
-
Behavioral disorder - specify the behavioral
challenge
7) A description of a unit you could
use in your spring quarter placement that would introduce your students
to the diversity of human abilities and challenges and that would attempt
to increase students' acceptance and valuing of each other.
