Steve almost had a baby over winter break. He's on edge, waiting for the call. He's not usually this way. He's drinking even more coffee.

Steve almost had a baby over break. He also has a toddler. He's tired. He's going to have a baby any minute now... When the baby is born, he'll disappear for approximately three days.

WEEK ONE: Steve will be in on Monday and Wednesday morning at least. (Tuesday printmaking will be all cleaning, putting away type). Steve will be checking his email and voice mail. He wants to hear from all of you and know everything about what you're thinking and doing for the program. He'll respond. He could disappear at anytime, just not show up -- presto, gone.

WEEK TWO: Steve will probably be back for most of class, depending on where the baby is. If the baby has been born, he'll be really sleepy, disoriented. Don't let that stop you. Go ahead. Just poke him in the shoulder or something.

WEEK THREE: Steve is like a new man. Everything's better now. Life makes sense again. He can distinguish between day and night again. He can remember names, facts, and he can form complete sentences spontaneously.

WEEKS FOUR-TEN: You sure he's okay?
