I.By
Enrolling in this program, we agree to:
§Attend
regularly – including being on time and coming back promptly from breaks.Let
us know in advance if you will have to be absent and make arrangements
to take care of missed work.Get
notes and in-class materials from fellow students and/or the Web.
§Read
all assigned readings and come prepared for class.
§Participate
regularly and actively in Web Crossing activities, and check the web page
at least twice a week for schedule changes, announcements and links
§Spend
at least 3 hours per week per credit hour of concerted effort on program-related
material (including time in class and on web crossing).{If
you find that essential class work requires more than this of you, discuss
with the faculty ways to make your work more efficient and/or get needed
help.}
§Articulate
and assume responsibility for our own work. Note that plagiarism will not
be tolerated, and will result in loss of credit.
§Work
to communicate creatively and effectively, participating actively but not
dominating and striving to demonstrate integrative, independent and critical
thinking.
§Participate
collaboratively and responsibly in our diverse class, and teams for projects.

III.Collaborative
evaluations – We will take part in an innovation being used in a number
of Evergreen programs in which the faculty and student collaborate on a
single evaluation, rather than using separate student and faculty evaluations.The
goal is to encourage more effective self-assessment, in depth and relevant
evaluations and streamlined transcripts.
a.Detailed
general guidelines will be handed out and discussed early in the quarter.
b.You
will write a draft of an evaluation of yourself in the third person.
c.You
will exchange this draft with several other students and give each other
constructive suggestions.
d.Before
the end of week 10, you will submit this eval to the faculty by email or
on disk (while keeping a backup copy on disk).
e.The
faculty will look at this draft along with their notes and your program
portfolio, make changes and additions they deem appropriate and discuss
the evaluation with you at your evaluation conference.
