Collaboratory Update for Winter Quarter, Week 5

Hello All, 

In the update for this week we can report several new advancements in our
situation.  This included:

- the installation of an Apache web server onto the Sun Sparc ('Sitka')
machine, through the expertise of David Metzler.  

- movement of all collab web pages onto the new web server
(http://192.211.18.10/sitka).

- installation of the notebook server onto Sitka, again with David's help. 
Currently it is accessable across the Evergreen network, although not
outside of the firewall.  Joe Pollock is still working on opening the
firewall to the addresses at PNNL.

- met with a representative of Sun Microsystems concerning our project, and
arranged to secure four additional copies of their Java Workshop software.

- began researching the OrbixWeb development environment.

- continued researching more into Java, CORBA, and UNIX administration
issues.

- prepared the latest draft of our hardware and software requirements.
