Evergreen Housing Administrators
John Lauer, Director of Housing
We interviewed John to dialogue with him about housing's need and interested in sustainability and themed housing. He provided important
contacts with the Assistant Directors of Housing.
Noel McHugh, Technology Manager
Noel helped us publish the official Resources of Residents page. He will continue to help residents update the page, to sustain the website
throughout the life of the Sustainability House.
Chuck McKinney, Assistant Director of Housing, Resident Life
We met with Chuck and presented our ideas. He was interested in our plans and helped us implement them.
Josh was hired by Evergreen to improve Evergreen's environmental impact. He offered
advice through email and in meetings, giving us resources to research other colleges
that are more energy efficient.
Rich Davis, Engineering Services
Rich helped us calculate energy use from data he provided about condensate return. He has been a great resource for understanding the technical aspects of Evergreen's energy system.
Patty VanDeWalker
Patty advised us about energy use in the dorms. She supplied us with data of
electric and natural gas use.
Nick Ames
Nick Ames helped us get contacts with Housing administration. He met with us and talked with us about the feasibility of metering individual buildings, such as the Sustainability Dorm I.
Scott Sheldon, Independent Consultant
Scott Sheldon provided us with guidance and inspiration via email about our
vision of environmentalism and societal betterment. He helped us keep our vision
grounded in the bigger ideas.
Tony Cortese, Co-Founder of Second Nature
Tony Cortese gave a lecture at Evergreen in Fall 2004. We joined him for a discussion
after his lecture. He provided a clear definition of actualizing sustainability,
which we have used as a guide for our project.
