Program Seminar
The Program Seminar on Friday afternoon will address
(student-organized) topics on the structure of scientific institutions and the
place and role of science in society.
Every student enrolled in any part of the program is required to participate.
Independent Research
Students enrolled in this component will carry out either a
laboratory project (in groups of two or three) or library research on a topic
approved by the faculty team.
For laboratory research, students will register for either
Chemistry or Biology lab and work on a major project for the entire
quarter. Projects will be chosen
in consultation with the faculty team.
All students carrying out a lab project will participate in a weekly lab
meeting on Tuesday afternoon and will present a poster of the project in Week
9.
We will meet on Thursday February 17 at 1 pm (Lab 1 1047) to answer questions about the program and to ask students to complete a survey about spring quarter plans.
