Student Governance Notes for 12/5/05
Update from Portland Committee:
- a free stay-over location is available at the gym of the Nativity school, also serves functions for a Catholic Church on 8th and Alberta. There are no showers, no curfew (just need to have some responsible person to secure the building), and there are no sleeping mats (bring your own).
Lizzie's idea
- five minutes story-telling time (as a part of community building)
Nathaniel's proposal to meet outside of class spawned a deep conversation including talk of
- community service
- roller skating ($2 on Wednesday, Tricia's idea to do this week after the break)
- project groups plan monthly event
- class party this weekend (Nathaniel thanks for hosting it)
- some people may have troubles committing (kids)
- blocking concern suggested on waiting until next quarter to plan community building.
- Another blocking concern suggested we should start ASAP
The last item on the agenda was how governance was working, this conversation was a whirl-wind of talk, I did not take notes on it but there were no minor or major resolutions.
