Proposal 1: Project teams to choose community building events?
Consensus on method to choose activities & responsibility tabled until next week, requires more thought
Lizzie will make a calendar for our Sem II D lounge space to pencil in events
Feel free to post miscellaneous events to the listserve as they come up
Skip week 6 (field trip) week 9 (stress)
- Don’t have to organize by weeks (events land on odd days)
Committee to decide who goes when?
Proposal 2: Shall seminar groups rotate meeting space?
Consensus reached: Yes, next week Cheryl’s group gets the window side
Are there alternate spaces?
- Options: Take over a portion of the CAB upstairs? Sem II lounge spaces?
Proposal 3: Shall Rob and Cheryl be invited to attend governance as regular participants?
Consensus not reached: Committee formed to rework proposal
- Nathaniel, Rachel W. so far
If they entered as equals, then no problem?
- As they are also “students” of the class, they should be involved in governance and decision-making
- Do they even have the time and inclination to participate?
Students feel they would have to censor their discussions if faculty were present at the meetings
Individuality and autonomy of the group would be restricted
As our faculty they present authority figures – not equal
Proposal 4: Shall Brad Bishop pitch to Student Governance about a Student Union/Government on Campus?
Consensus reached: Yes he can come to a meeting
When? TBA
