Web Crossing - For First Timers - You must Register and give
me your login name so I can give you permission to post and read our papers.
- Open a
browser (Double click on the icon on the application menu.)
- Go
to webx.evergreen.edu
- Select
“register” at top of screen
- Use
your first name followed by last name eg
- Pick a
password that you will remember and type it in.
- You
will have to go through this drill a couple of times.
- Now
you are in. Write the user name on
a piece of paper and give it to me
- I will
fix up webx so that only people in this class will have access to the
postings. Right now anyone will be
able to read and post to it so that we can practice.
- Now
select Academic Program Discussion Groups
- Go
down the list and select SO YOU WANT TO BE A TEACHER
- Now
you should see a file list. If
this is your first posting, select
- There
will be a list of postings by other students. At the bottom will be a list of options for you. Select
- This should
give you a form to fill out. Be
sure to put your name in the subject box.
The message box is where you will post your paper after the first
week.
- I
think cutting and pasting is the most convenient way to get your paper
there. See me about how to do
that.
After you have registered and I have given you permission to
read and post to our class space, the next time you get to WEBX, click on login
instead of register and type in your user name and password as you created them
the first time you visited WEBX.
- Now select
the week that you are posting the paper for and then select the faculty
seminar you are in and post a new discussion there.
- You
must also read a paper of a colleague that has few than two messages, read
the paper and post a message giving feedback on the paper. The feedback should be suggestions that
will make the paper stronger.
